Our Client
Our client is a rapidly growing Life Science organisation that has made three acquisitions in the last three years. Unfortunately, due to their sensitive work, they cannot be named, and their locations across the UK are not to be publicly advertised.
We had a longstanding relationship with one of the acquired businesses, where we facilitated providing and managing the installation of Highly Resilient Internet infrastructure in a self-contained and bespoke retrofitted building. The continued hard work of our Telecoms team has led to Greenlight Computers’ continued business with the new parent company, where over time, we have become the sole internet service provider (ISP) offering Highly Resilient Internet solutions to their sites across the United Kingdom.
The Challenge:
Due to the nature of our clients’ businesses and the people they work with, an Internet connection is critical to their operations. We have also had to manage and design the service and installation, dealing with other service providers. Throughout the various projects, be it on an existing site or a new build, we have had to deal with tight timescales, where we have had to work to minimise downtime and manage working with large construction contractors.
Greenlight Computers Solution
We deployed a Highly Resilient ISP grade Internet Connectivity in partnership with Marston’s Telecoms.
- Dual Gigabit feeds from alternate providers, exchanges, collector nodes and directions for maximum resiliency.
- Dual routers managing local failover. Enterprise-grade products.
- Cost-effective services give clients satisfaction and peace of mind.
- Marston’s Telecoms core network is configured to handle ISP-level failover. Routing is handled in the core, so hops to alternate legs are seamless. The same IP Address is broadcast, and there is zero downtime in the event of a client outage.
- Flexible and expandable IP Address ranges deployed.
- I fully managed the process from dealing with Openreach and the construction contractor to discussing the best place for ducting, routers external and internal to the building, and the comms room.
- Pre-Ethernet 4/5G solution deployed to get our clients key team members connected and working in new building whilst Openreach timescales progressed.
