The Client

Our client is a drug discovery and development company. They focus on the research and development of medicines to treat common diseases. The client’s team of pharmaceutical industry experts require robust and secure IT solutions to enable efficient working at all times.

Challenges

Our client understands the importance of investing in their IT and Cyber Security – having already invested into improving their hardware and software security within the business over the last few months. Due to the nature of the clinical research in which they undertake, the business must comply with industry regulations and IT stipulations. Consequently, they needed a solution which gave them visibility on the position of their IT assets; most importantly, the cyber security status.

Greenlight Computers Solution

Greenlight Computers advised the client to deploy CyberSmart, which is a cybersecurity solution that identifies system vulnerabilities on all devices, helps prevent cyber attacks and helps to provide continuous compliance in line with Cyber Essentials – the government approved UK standard. The CyberSmart tool makes compliance a more real-time and ongoing process rather than a single snapshot in time, which most cyber security certifications are. With its simple to follow resolution steps, it empowers the user to resolve most vulnerabilities by basic housekeeping and Greenlight Computers are there to support the users where needed.

The Greenlight Computers team implemented the following process for the client:

• Assessed the quantity of users (taking into account Windows and Mac users), what licenses were needed and the most suitable deployment method for the company.
• Set up the CyberSmart Platform and created their organisation
• Configured relevant packages, created folders for the client and uploaded Files for Windows, iOS, and Android
• Deployed CyberSmart to the management team in Phase 1 and rectified any actions which were flagged
• Assigned one person within the company to be trained by Greenlight to rectify all points highlighted on CyberSmart (by following the manual guides provided), so they could help other staff to resolve any remedials identified.
• In Phase 2, all staff rectified their CyberSmart checks by following the step by step CyberSmart guides
• Setup Reporting. Two people were selected within the company (alongside the Greenlight Computers support team) to receive their CyberSmart report weekly so they could easily and conveniently monitor company scores and cyber security compliance across the entire cohort.

Within 2 weeks of having CyberSmart installed, our client increased their score to 90%. With a bit of extra work, they are on track to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus, should they so wish to!
