We are unable to name our client, but Greenlight Computers has had a longstanding relationship with them. They are a global leader in providing tools, technology, and services to researchers and scientists in the life sciences field. Greenlight Computers has been instrumental in optimising the IT infrastructure of the clients Laboratory facilities. The lab facilities enable our client to showcase new technology and machinery to their clients, it also and provides support and a lab environment for those who have yet to establish their own labs. These facilities are an invaluable asset for those working in Biopharma and Life Sciences.

The Challenge:

The existing equipment and infrastructure in the Laboratory facilities and on-site offices were outdated, nearing the end of their lifespan, and lacked security features. With our client handling data from various sources, managing segregation and futureproofing storage expansion became critical. Additionally, the ability for their staff to remotely connect to the Lab to assist users was essential.

Greenlight Computers Solution

Greenlight Computers worked closely with the client to recommend a comprehensive and modern solution that fits their needs and the needs of their staff and clients both on-site in their offices, the laboratory and for those who work remotely.

The Greenlight team implemented:

New Server and Shared Drive: Replacing outdated equipment with a new physical server that has a highly resilient raid setup, so in the event of a drive failure, the infrastructure will still carry on working without any disruption, offering enhanced data security for both the on-site offices and the Laboratory.
Segregated Network: Implementing a segregated network ensures separate data streams for internal staff, customers using the laboratory facilities, and other external traffic from the science-park where the client is situated. This secure network also allows secure remote access for off-site staff.
Secure Wi-Fi Solution: We provided the Client with a secure radius-controlled WiFi that allows users to access the machines from any area within the science park.
Firewall Upgrade: Replacing the outdated firewall strengthened overall network security and provided our client with granular control over user access.
