Position Title: Business Development Manager
Location: UK Science Park (flexible)

Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 plus car allowance and bonus plan
OTE: £50,000 – £75,000

Greenlight Computers welcomes recruiters submitting candidates and offers a maximum fixed fee of £2,000 plus VAT for successful placements. The payment of the fixed fee is made after the new employee completes the first month of employment and subject to successful DBS check and references.

The Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and expanding market share. This is a dynamic role requiring a proactive, results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about achieving targets.

You will be actively hunting out IT related problems within new clients and working with our team to present back excellent solutions and strategies to help the clients and start long term relationships. Solutions will include IT Managed Service contracts, software subscription, cloud servers, physical servers, networking infrastructure, cyber security, resilient connectivity and digital marketing.

A background in IT service, telecoms or associated business development would be ideal to but the essential component is hunger to build your own client base within Greenlight Computers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth targets.
    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and emerging markets.
  • Client Acquisition:
    • Identify and qualify potential leads and convert them into long-term clients.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Sales and Negotiation:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
    • Negotiate contracts and close business deals that align with company objectives.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
    • Work closely with internal technical teams to design and cost client solutions.
    • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Track and report on key performance metrics (e.g., pipeline development, revenue targets).
    • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on business development progress.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a business development, sales, or account management role.
  • Strong understanding of Life Sciences and IT sectors and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
